TEHRAN, June 11 (Mehr News Agency) -- To fill in the time of students this summer the Islamic Propagation Organization (IPO) has organized 45 cultural, scientific, academic and recreational programs, said IPO Deputy for Cultural Affairs Hojjatoleslam Mohammad-Hassan Mousapour.

The programs start on July 16 in 3000 camps across the country at the national, regional, and domestic levels, he said.

Saying that free times play an important part in individual and social development as well as in the country's cultural and social progress, Mousapour added, "This is an important and sensitive matter in our country where over 60 percent of the population is under 24."

According to the IPO official, the programs are designated as Boostan (garden) of Prayers for adolescents and Golestan (garden) of Velayat for youths.

"The educational programs are aimed at strengthening the fundamental religious and beliefs and ethics through organizing courses including teaching Qoran, the religious codes, and the history of Islam."

Art and crafts, chorus songs, plays, first aid, poems, group recitations, story writing, designing, drawing and calligraphy are the ten educational topics while eight separate fields of sports have also been included in the programs, he said.

"The students would also have access to IT and Internet as part of the program,"

Mousapour added.
