Khatami's Letter to Majlis Hopeful Sign of End of Problem

TEHRAN -- MEHR NEWS AGENCY -- An expert in legal affairs and a member of the Guardian Council (GC) called Khatami's letter to the Majlis (Parliament) a hopeful effort which ended the current problem, and stressed the need to pay serious attention to the late Imam Khomeni's conduct in managing the country's significant problems.

Referring to the matters that officials have prioritized for governing society, Mohsen Esmaeili said here on Saturday, "In the current situation the country's officials -- those who love the Imam and are regarded as his followers -- should confirm that the Imam's pattern was the best one and should use it in their practical efforts to manage affairs. It must be regarded as their first priority as well."

He added that what the Imam wanted to be implemented by the Constitution and the Islamic Republic political system has been clarified, and what is regarded as his worldview is called religious populism.

So, the greatest responsibility of the country's officials is doing their best to show that the Islamic system is beneficial.

"Making Iran an advanced country is the best way to familiarize the world with the Imam's approaches and attitudes, his viewpoints and conduct, and this goal can be reached only through unity and solidarity, through the officials making more efforts," he said.

Esmaeili called the Constitution an absolute axis of national dignity and determination, adding that a low standard of living, unemployment, and addiction are not acceptable in such a system, founded by the late Imam Khomeini. Eliminating tension and expanding public service are the only way to solve some problems, he noted.

Expressing hope that the country's current problems will be solved in the near future, he referred to President Khatami's twin bills and said that Khatami's fundamental and rational letter to the Majlis is regarded as a hopeful effort, which eliminates the country's problems. It seems that all the officials' and organizations' practical and serious efforts can be a good start toward making the Imam's pattern of political life universal.

He said that the Imam's political system was the best material/spiritual remedy for today's society.

"Meeting these goals takes time. The most important issue is that we don't forget our goals during the ups and downs. And all the officials' and organizations' legal rights, as well the as the officials' dignity must be acknowledged by society," Esmaeili said in conclusion.\SN\
