Iran’s 6th cross-country gas transmission pipeline operational next Mar.

TEHRAN, Oct. 1 (MNA) -- The sixth cross-country gas transmission pipeline with an appropriation of 10 trillion rials ($1.07b) becomes operational at the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 19, 2008), the project’s executive manager said Monday.

Quoted by Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC), Ali-Akbar Sha’banpur added National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) provides the total fund.

The pipeline is designed to transfer sweet gas produced by phases 9 and 10 of South Pars field, he added.

With an 86 percent physical progress, the project is underway, said the official.

When the pipeline works at full capacity, it carries 100 million cubic meters of sweet gas daily, said Sha’banpur, adding it transmits only 50m cu. m. in the first stage per day from Assaluyeh to Bidboland.

On its way, the gas line feeds the southern provinces of Bushehr and Khuzestan, said the executive manager, adding it finally joins the first nationwide pipeline in the outlet of Bidboland Refinery.
