The ministry stated that the Argentina’s blacklisting of the IRGC is a decision adopted under pressure from the Israeli regime and Washington.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said Argentina has, in doing so, clearly violated the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law regarding respect for the national sovereignty of states and the prohibition of interference in their internal affairs.
It said the move also represents a strategic mistake and an unforgivable insult to the Iranian nation, adding that it is in line with the Argentine government’s misguided approach of siding with the “genocidal and occupying Zionist regime” of Israel and the United States as they continue with their aggression against Iran.
“By declaring their alignment with the US and Zionist regime’s military aggression against Iran, the president and minister of foreign affairs of Argentina have positioned themselves as partners to the crimes committed (in Iran) and have placed themselves on the wrong side of history.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also warned that the move seriously damages bilateral relations between Iran and Argentina, while setting a dangerous precedent in interstate relations and creating an international responsibility for the Argentine government.
