Continuing his anti-Iran rhetoric, he claimed, “You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!”
Oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, which is off Iran’s southern coast, have decreased dramatically since the start of the aggression on Iran. Iran has threatened to attack tankers bound for adversarial countries, like the U.S. and its allies, disrupting the passage normally used for a fifth of the world’s petroleum supply.
