Amid intesfied US President's rhetoric, Wang Yi, China's foreign minister, called Abbas Araghchi on Thursday.
According to Chinese media, the calls eas made to call on Iran amid tensions with the US and also dialogue.
Later, the Iranian foeign ministry issued a readout of the call, saying that the two top politicians discussed mutual and international issues and expressed happiness over the all-inclusive relations between the two countries.
Detailing on the recent protests in Iran, Araghchi described that the peaceful protests of Iranians turned into a violent riot by trained elements and stressed Iran’s commitment to safeguard its citizens against Daesh-like terrorism supported by the Israeli regime and the US.
He also appreciated China’s stance condemning terrorism and foreign interventions in Iran.
During the conversation, Wang stresses the importance of commitment of all countries to the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law, adding that the world should not return to the age of force and powers should behave responsibly.
He also referred to Iran’s role in peace in the region and said that Beijing has always supported Iran’s national sovereignty and security and will defend Iran’s logical and legitimate stances in international organizations, including the United Nations.
