At a weekly press briefing, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei responded to recent remarks by the US envoy Steve Witkoff who claimed that Iranian leaders are now calling him.
“Contacts between us and the opposing side continue in some form through intermediaries, but this does not signify the start of negotiations. Talks begin only when both sides respect each other’s positions and are prepared to consider each other’s interests on an equal basis. We have not reached that stage,” Baghaei said.
