Palestinian Authority play in Zionist psychological puzzle

Palestinian Authority play in Zionist psychological puzzle

TEHRAN, Jun. 05 (MNA) – The Palestinian Authority and President Mahmoud Abbas have engaged in the psychological puzzle of Zionists by criticizing and making claims against Iran.

The Palestinian Authority, led by Mahmoud Abbas, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran's policies are hindering the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The statement criticized Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, for his remarks on the 35th anniversary of Imam Khomeini's passing.

It claimed that Iran's policies have led to the victimization of the Palestinian people.

Now, Mehr News Agency (MNA) raised the question of who is truly responsible for the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Palestinian Authority; 30 years of negotiation with shrinking geography of Palestine

The Palestinian Authority was established in 1994 following the Oslo Accords between the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Zionist regime as a five-year transitional government to facilitate final negotiations between the two sides.

The Palestinian Authority's approach towards the Zionist regime has been focused on negotiations rather than resistance. However, over the past 30 years, the negotiations have resulted in a reduction of the territory available for a Palestinian state and have failed to establish an independent Palestinian state.

Initially, the Palestinian Authority emphasized the borders of 1948 but later settled for the 1967 borders, which include areas in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Eastern Quds to form a Palestinian state alongside the Zionist regime.

After the so-called “deal of the century”, which formalized Israel's occupation of 85 percent of the Palestinian territory, the Palestinian Authority, under Mahmoud Abbas, did not take action to prevent the deal. Consequently, former US President Donald Trump and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrated a significant victory.

Mahmoud Abbas' policy of negotiation and compromise has not advanced the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Moreover, the Zionist regime does not even accept a two-state solution and instead emphasizes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state outside of Palestine.

Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and Palestinian Authority

Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, but more than any other approach exposed the nature of the Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas.

Mahmoud Abbas practically divided Palestine into two parts including the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and he made many criticisms of the purely Palestinian Operation Al-Aqsa Storm for undermining Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza.

Since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, more than 400 people have been martyred in the West Bank, especially in its northern regions, but the Palestinian Authority did nothing to stop Zionist crimes.

When people in the West Bank poured into the streets to protest the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in the massacre of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital that left more than 500 martyrs, the Palestinian Authority used tear gas to disperse the people. Their security forces also infiltrated the demonstrations among the people to pave the way for more repression of the people.

Hamas criticized the election of a new Palestinian Authority prime minister without consulting other Palestinian groups in March 2024, saying it was against the procedure of choosing a national government.

In response to criticism from Hamas, Fatah (Palestinian National Liberation Movement) and Mahmoud Abbas issued an unusually harsh statement, aligning themselves with the Zionists. They wrote to Hamas, stating, "The group responsible for the events of October 7, the re-occupation of Gaza, which was worse than Nakba, does not deserve to criticize us."

Mahmoud Abbas' accusations against Hamas come at a time when there is global consensus on the importance of achieving an independent Palestinian state, seen as a strategic outcome of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

The United Nations passed a resolution with 143 votes in favor, nine against, and 25 abstentions, calling for a reconsideration of Palestine's full membership in the Security Council. This demonstrates a shift in power in favor of Palestine following the events of October 7 and Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

The Palestinian Authority is portraying Operation Al-Aqsa Storm as a misguided and unproductive action that does not serve the interests of the Palestinian people in their pursuit of statehood and other rights. However, the reality is that this operation was a reason that marked the first time the Palestinian membership as an independent government was announced, despite facing a veto from the US.

This demonstrates that the path to achieving a Palestinian state, even within the framework of two states, is not through negotiation or compromise, but through proactive action and resistance against oppression.

Recent actions by some European countries recognizing the state of Palestine in the form of two states have prompted the Palestinian Authority to assert its claim to an independent state and the capital of Eastern Quds. This assertiveness can be attributed to the impact of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.

It is argued that if negotiations and compromise were effective in establishing an independent Palestinian state, this would have been achieved within the last 30 years.

New anti-Iran claims show catching up in Zionist psychological puzzle

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has emphasized that the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was carried out by Palestinian fighters and is purely Palestinian. In his speech on June 3, he discussed the dimensions of the Zionist regime's defeat in the Operation Al-Aqsa Storm and the Gaza war, as well as the important achievements of the Palestinian resistance fighters.

However, a statement by the Palestinian Authority, which controls the West Bank, claimed that Iran's leader believes "no one should count on achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip,"  despite the fact that such remarks did not exist in the leader's words. These claims contradict Iranian officials' explicit positions on the need for a ceasefire in Gaza.

This part of the Palestinian Authority's statement is a claim and a lie that represents their fall in the psychological puzzle of the Zionists. The rhetoric and accusations by Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority under his control are aimed at alleviating public pressure over their inactions in the aftermath of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm over the past eight months.

The Palestinian Authority said in another and final part of its statement: "It is clear that the purpose of such remarks is to victimize Palestinians, thousands of women, children and the elderly plus to destroy the Palestinian land and ultimately will not lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with the capital of Eastern Quds."

"It is unnecessary for the Palestinian people, who have been fighting for the past 100 years, to engage in wars that do not contribute to their freedom and independence," it added.

The Palestinian Authority, without fully considering Ayatollah Khamenei's entire comments in Tehran, has claimed in a way that the goal of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was a regional issue, not a Palestinian.

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Khamenei has consistently emphasized, even in recent speeches, that Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was a Palestinian response to the occupation and Zionist atrocities, adding that it also had a precise and strategic regional impact.

Conclusion

The Palestinian Authority and Mahmoud Abbas make claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran, even though they have not made as much effort to defend Palestine and its interests as Iran has. This is because they fear upsetting their Zionist masters.

Iranian Martyr Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahianhas worked as hard as the entire Palestinian Authority to defend the independent state of Palestine and the Palestinian people. He has also highlighted Zionist crimes against the Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, and has actively participated in regional and global forums to address these issues.

Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, with a photograph of memorabilia and a smiling face, can not defend Palestinian interests against Zionist savages. Instead of criticizing and claiming against Iran, please review the 30-year history of negotiating and conciliating with the Zionists. Today, the Palestinian people do not consider you as a representative of the Palestinians but rather consider you as the agent of Zionists and Americans on Palestinian soil.
