Iran's Taremi wins Porto derby with historic goal

TEHRAN, May 13 (MNA) – Porto FC secured a victory against Boavista FC with a historic goal by his Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi in the 33rd round of the Liga Portugal Betclic.

Porto FC played against Boavista FC at Estádio do Dragão and won the match 2-1.

In the beginning, Boavista scored the first goal, but Porto equalized soon after.

To make up for the missed goal, the Porto head coach brought Taremi, who is set to transfer to Inter Milan in the summer, into the game.

Just when everything seemed to be heading for a draw, Taremi appeared in the 90+8′, securing three crucial points for his team.

This was the last game for Taremi with the Porto jersey at the Estádio do Dragão, and he bid farewell to the fans in the stadium at the end of the game.

Taremi, who was born on July 18th, 1992, is affectionately known as the "Persian Gulf Boy" in Portugal after celebrating his 100th match in a Porto jersey on August 20th, 2022.
