Russia, Yemen, Iraq stands at 35th Tehran book fair

TEHRAN, May 09 (MNA) – Yemeni, Iraqi and Russian publishers among others have set up stands at the 35th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).

On the second day of the 35th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) on Thursday held in Grand Mossala compound like in previous years, Iraq's Studies Center opened its stand with displaying 70 of its previously planned 184 books. The center has said that it could not transport all its books to Iran.

Since 2003, Iraq's Studies Center has been one of the oldest research centers in Iraq and has been able to publish more than 184 scientific books in various fields, including Iraq's foreign relations and the scientific needs in Iraqi society. Images of martyred Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani and Palestinian Resistance's Al Aqsa Storm could be seen on some of the covers of the Iraqi books at the Tehran book fair, Mehr correspondent has said.

Moreover, in the TIBF national pavilion of "Russian Books", visitors will become familiar with new Russian books and contemporary Russian authors.

The Yemen's Stand was opened on Thursday morning in a ceremony attended by Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Yasser Ahmadvand, Vice President for Cultural Affairs and Chairman of TIBF.

Speaking in the opening ceremony of Yemen's stand in the 3th TIBF, the Iranian culture minister hailed the Yemenis for their support for Palestine amid the genocidal war on Gaza Strip. "Beloved Yemen, today taught the lesson of resistance and jihad to all the Muslims of the world and all the oppressed in the world, and the Yemenis disrupted all the equations of the Arrogant Front in the world."

Sixty foreign publishers are taking part in TIBF this year.
