Issa Zarepour met and held talks with Omar Said Shaaban and his accompanying entourage in Tehran on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the potential for expanding relations between their countries, specifically in the field of communications and information technology.
Zarepour expressed Iran's commitment to developing relations with African countries, especially Tanzania, and stated the country's willingness to take constructive steps in this direction.
Explaining the activities of the Iranian Ministry of Information and Communications Technology in various fields including communication development, post, post-bank, and space industry, he stated that each of these areas could be a starting point for joint cooperation in the field of communications and information technology.
He also expressed the country’s readiness to develop fixed communications in Tanzania based on fiber optic networks and e-government development.
Shaaban, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and welcomed the idea of expanding ties with Iran.
He acknowledged the capabilities of Iranian companies in the field of communication and information technology and hoped that Tanzania could benefit from these capacities. Shaaban promised to use this potential to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
