Iran's optic fiber services available to 6 million households

TEHRAN, Feb. 06 (MNA) –  Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology says that some six million households are currently using internet services provided by the country's high-speed optic fiber network.

Issa Zarepour made the announcement on Monday in a ceremony in the city of Meybod in central Yazd province where opened several optical fiber projects. 

He added that some 20 million people in Iran will have access to optic fiber services until August 2025.

According to government statistics, more than 91% of Iranian villages with a population of over 20 households have been connected to the existing high-speed network in the country.
