Iran Judiciary head travels to Iraq for cooperation talks

TEHRAN, Feb. 13 (MNA) – The head of Iran's Judiciary has traveled to neighboring Iraq for talks on judicial cooperation.

Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, the New Head of Iran's Judiciary, departed for Iraq on Tuesday in response to the official invitation of the Chairman of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidane.

Iran's chief of justice's visit also is aimed at bolstering legal and judicial relations between Iran and Iraq.

Before leaving for Baghad, Ejei old reporters that Iran and Iraq have high-level relations in the field of legal and judicial issues.

"The Chairman of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council Faiq Zidane invited me to visit his country so that the consultations and communication between the two countries regarding bilateral legal and judicial issues, as well as regional and global issues in this area, will continue and further expand," he said.

"Clearly, one of the issues to be followed up during the trip to Iraq is the the issue of terrorism, for which a joint committee between Iran and Iraq has been formed," the added.
