Iran’s Maghsoodloo downs Emirati rival in 2023 Qatar Masters

TEHRAN, Oct.16 (MNA) – The Iranian grandmaster Parham Maghsoodloo emerged victorious over his rival from the UAE in the 2023 Qatar Masters Open underway in Doha, Qatar.

Maghsoodloo, with a rating of 2707, defeated his opponent from the UAE, with a rating of 2632, in the fifth round of the competition.

Previously, the Iranian chess player beat his prominent chess player from Germany Raphael Lagunow, and Kazakhstan’s Alisher Suleymenov in the sporting event.

Magnus Carlsen, the world's number one chess player, Nakamura and Anish Giri are among the most famous chess players in the competition.

The Qatar Masters 2023 is a 9-round Swiss, underway in Doha, Qatar from October 11-20.
