Esmaeilnezhad crossed the line with a time of 11.57 seconds in the women’s 100m Heat 3 behind Chinese athlete Yongli Wei who clocked 11.35 seconds.
Taftian also qualified for the semifinals in the men’s 100m with a time of 10.42 seconds in Heat 3.

Iranian national men’s 3X3 basketball team defeated India 19-7 to advance to the quarter-final in the 2022 Asian Games.
The Iranian national squad will compete with Mongolia in the quarter-final.
More than 12,000 athletes from all 45 members of the Olympic Council of Asia are participating in the 19th Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China from 23 September to 8 October. A total of 481 events are competing in the event.
The Iranian athletes have bagged 23 medals including three gold, ten silver, and eleven bronze so far.
