Groups condemn Zionist military offensive in Gaza Strip

TEHRAN, July 3 (MNA) -- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the Basij Teachers Association, and the International Union of NGOs Defending Palestinians issued separate statements on Monday against Israel’s recent military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Condemning the terrorist and inhumane measures of the Zionist regime, the IRGC called on the international community to prevent Israel’s aggressive attacks against the defenseless Palestinian people.

In its statement, the IRGC said that the United Nations, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and those who claim to be the upholders of human rights should show their respect for people’s rights by condemning Israel’s aggression.

The Zionist attack showed that Israel is a real threat to global security and to deal with this regime firmly is essential, the statement by the International Union of NGOs Defending Palestinians read.

“The global arrogance, particularly the U.S. and Britain, by supporting Israel’s actions and international organizations by being silent are indirectly involved in these terrorist attacks and (therefore) detested by the world public opinion.”

The Basij Teachers Association called the attack brutal, adding that through their terrorist activities the Israelis proved that they do not seek peace and only know the language of aggression and massacre.

Israel has launched its biggest military operation in the Gaza Strip in response to the abduction of an Israeli soldier during a Palestinian attack on the Israel-Gaza border.

The Zionist regime has used its firepower against militant and civilian targets across Gaza with wave after wave of night-time air strikes, and in a dramatic warning to Hamas Sunday hit the office of Prime Minister Ismail Haniya.

Threatened with a full-scale ground offensive, impoverished residents of Gaza, one of the most densely populated areas on the planet with a population of 1.4 million, are grappling with food, fuel and electricity cuts.
