TEHRAN, June 17 (MNA) -- Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) Secretary General Abdul-Aziz Hakim said here on Saturday said that the new Iraqi government has normal relations with all countries, including Britain and the United States.

The SCIRI leader made the remarks at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki in Tehran.

Hakim called on Iran and the United States to directly negotiate in the dispute over Iran’s nuclear activities.

He went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always backed the Iraqi nation, both before and after the collapse of the Saddam Hussein regime, and Iraqis will never forget this.
