TEHRAN, Nov. 06 (MNA) – Head of Iran's Food and Drug Administration Gholamreza Asghari said that the significant increase in domestic production of pharmaceutical raw materials has resulted in 33 percent decrease in its related imports.

Despite all economic pressures, the domestic production share of pharmaceutical raw materials have increased from 54 percent in 2016 to 67 percent in 2018, declining Iran’s dependence on these materials by 33 percent, he said on Tuesday.

He went on to say that manufacturing two-thirds of pharmaceutical raw materials inside the country are a unique record in the region and even internationally.
