Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian ambassadors and heads of Iran’s missions abroad on Saturday.
He underlined that "persistent accusation of Iran is a part of psychological warfare planned by the enemies," adding "to achieve this goal, they have repeatedly raised Iranophobic sentiments, accusing Iran of violations of democracy, lack of freedom and human rights abuses."
Pointing to the crimes of Europeans and the West against their former colonies, restricting the democracy in the West to the mere rules or opinions of special centers, party dictatorships in the United States and some European countries, as well as the current crimes of some Western countries, including complicity with the Saudi Arabia in killing Yemeni civilians, Ayatollah Khamenei said the West is the true manifestation of human rights abuses, however, they accuse Iran of being so, which really makes me shocked over their shamless behavior!
Leader of the Islamic Revolution said "assuming that the problems of the country can be resolved through negotiation or relations with the United States is a clear mistake;" the United States has fundamental problems with the principles of the Islamic Establishment; there are many countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America that have relations with the US, however, they are involved in a lot of problems, he added.
Outlining United States' deep hostility towards the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei said "the only thing that satisfies the Americans is to take back the position they had in Iran before the Islamic Revolution."
"US opposition to Iran's nuclear capability, high enrichment power and its presence in the region, are due to their profound hostility towards the authority of the Islamic Establishment," Atatollah Khamenei said, adding Iran's presence in the region is one of the key elements of Iran's power and security and is considered as the strategic backbone of the country. That's why enemies oppose it.
Pointing to the Iranian officials' repeated comments over the unreliability of the United States, Leader said "I have consistently warned you about US' untrustworthiness; "the word and even the signature of the Americans cannot be relied upon, so negotiations with the US are of no avail."
Regarding the talks with Europeans, Ayatollah Khamenei said "continue negotiations with Europe, but do not hesitate for their JCPOA package, instead, do the necessary activities inside the country."
