Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif posted a message on his Twitter account saying that Iran has lodged a complaint with the International Court of Justice against US unilateral measures in violating the multilateral treaty signed by Iran, EU, and 5+1 in 2015.
In a blatant case of violating the international regulations and laws, US President pulled US out of the nuclear agreement of 2015 and ordered a new round of sanctions to be levied against Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran says that it is still abiding by the agreement- which was approved by UN Security Council- and condemns US measures as breaching of the international law.
“Today Iran filed a complaint @CIJ_ICJ to hold US accountable for its unlawful re-imposition of unilateral sanctions. Iran is committed to the rule of law in the face of US contempt for diplomacy & legal obligations. It's imperative to counter its habit of violating int'l law,” reads Mr. Zarif’s tweet.
