‘Kupal’ wins Best Cinematography at Nigeria's Realtime filmfest.

TEHRAN, Jul. 2 (MNA) – Iranian feature ‘Kupal’ directed by Kazem Mollaie won Best Cinematography award for Majid Gorgian at the 3rd Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria.

‘Kupal’ was nominated in four categories at the Nigerian film festival, including Best Film (Kazem Mollaie), Best Actor (late Iranian actor Levon Haftvan), Best Cinematography (Majid Gorjian), and Best Soundtrack (Babak Mirzakhani). The film was awarded the Best Cinematography award at this year’s edition of the festival.

'Kupal' narrates the story of a hunter and taxidermist who goes through an unfortunate incident by trapping himself in his basement with little food and no water, having to survive by using creative and desperate means. The storyline of Kupal and the tagline is, ‘you can’t be alone in this world!’

The feature has previously scooped Best Feature Film Award at the 13th Huntington Beach's Film Festival in US.

The RTF catalogue theme for 2018 was "Stories That Touch". The festival’s mission, according to the event’s website, is to “champion an artistic baseline where equity and openness is enhanced among creative artists, filmmakers and film enthusiasts.”

The third edition of Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) was held on June 24 – 30, 2018 in Lagos, Nigeria.
