Iran’s Araghchi to visit Moscow Fri.: Russian foreign ministry

TEHRAN, Jun. 21 (MNA) – An informed source at Russian foreign ministry said Iranian Deputy FM Abbas Araghchi will depart for Moscow on Friday to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Ryabkov.

The informed source told Russia’s news agency RIA Novosti that negotiations between Araghchi and Ryabkov have been set for Friday, during which the two sides will confer on the latest developments surrounding the Iran nuclear deal dubbed JCPOA.

The last of such talks between Araghchi and Ryabkov took place on May 10, where the two diplomats focused on prospects for the further implementation of the Iran nuclear deal after the US withdrawal from it. The Russian side highlighted its commitment to preserving the agreement. Russia and Iran agreed to continue closely coordinating their efforts on this matter in the interests of ensuring bilateral cooperation, according to a statement by Russian foreign ministry.
