Pakistan calls on Iran to resume gas pipeline negotiations

TEHRAN, May. 09 (MNA) – Pakistani local media reported that the officials of the country have invited Iranian officials to Islamabad to discuss reinstating the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline.

Pakistani officials have offered to the Islamic Republic of Iran to dispatch its special envoy to Islamabad to start renegotiating the construction of Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline (AKA IP Gas and Peace Pipeline), reported local Pakistani media.

According to a Rawalpindi-based Urdu daily, the invitation was made upon the will of Pakistani Premier, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, through energy ministry to the Iranian side.

Also the local media say that the invitation asks Tehran to pay a visit to Islamabad in current months before coming of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
