Iranian cabinet replaces US dollar with euro

TEHRAN, Apr. 18 (MNA) – During its official meeting on Wednesday, the Iranian cabinet of ministers decided to change the basic currency in its international transactions from the US dollar to the euro.

The Iranian cabinet of ministers held its official meeting on Wednesday under the chair of President Rouhani and decreed that all ministries, organizations, companies, and offices of government should use the euro as the basic currency for currency allocations.

In a bid to replace the US dollar with the euro, the decagon requires all government offices to use the European currency in rolling out financial statistics, reports, and information.

Also, accordingly, the Iranian Central Bank has been tasked with continuous controlling and announcing the rate of the Iranian rial against the euro.
