Head of President’s Office Mahmoud Vaezi met with his Azeri counterpart Ramiz Mehdiyev where he assessed Iran-Azerbaijan relations and cooperation as developing and said “fortunately, today we witness the development and the operationalization of joint agreements and projects including building an automobile factory in Azerbaijan and promoting cooperation in the fields of energy, transportation and transit, industry and commerce.”
Head of president’s office stressed the use of national currency to boost Tehran-Baku relations, adding “we must use capacities and capabilities in both countries to promote economic and commercial ties and we need to endeavor to identify new areas of cooperation.”
“Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to provide experience and technologies for the Republic of Azerbaijan. We see no obstacles in the way of promoting political, cultural, commercial, economic and social relations and collaborations between the two countries,” he added.
Vaezi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers it of utmost importance to find peaceful solutions to regional problems and conflicts and maintaining the territorial integrity of all Islamic countries and added “regional governments and nations can develop friendly ties and deprive the enemy of the opportunity to interfere in regional affairs.”
For his part, the Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Ramiz Mehdiyev highlighted the close ties between the two countries and called for an all-round development of relations and collaboration between Tehran and Baku.
Mehdiyev stressed the intention of Azerbaijan for creating a more modern cultivation industry and urged Iranian economic, agricultural and industrial experts for support.
Head of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan said that Iran and Azerbaijan adopt a similar stance with respect to various regional and international issues. Mehdiyev stressed the necessity of increasing cooperation between the security institutions of both governments in order to fight terrorism and extremism and improving efforts to bring peace and stability to the region.
