MAPNA Group delegation visits Slovenia

TEHRAN, Nov. 17 (MNA) – Managing Director of MAPNA Group traveled to Ljubljana with the aim of exchanging technical and engineering capabilities between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Slovenia.

Abbas Aliabadi, Managing Director of MAPNA Group, left Tehran for Ljubljana on Thursday along with representatives and senior executives of Turbine Engineering and Manufacturing Company (TUGA) and MAPNA Electric & Control, Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MECO) as two subsidiaries of the MAPNA group.

Upon arrival, the Iranian delegation made visits to a number of Slovenian industrial companies and met with their directors and other executives. They also visited various departments of these companies and their production lines and were closely acquainted with their capacities.

At their meetings with managers of Slovenian firms active in areas of energy, infrastructure, electricity and construction of turbines and transformers, the Iranian officials, while introducing capabilities of MAPNA Group and its subsidiaries, voiced readiness to invest in and Implement joint projects and to exchange technology, experience and technical know-how.

The visit was made with the aim of familiarizing MAPNA Group and Slovenian companies with activities and technical and engineering capabilities of both sides, as well as creating the necessary framework for cooperation and, in the end, both parties expressed hope for initiation of further communication and cooperation.

MAPNA Group is a group of Iranian companies involved in development and execution of thermal and renewable power plants, oil & gas, railway transportation and other industrial projects as well as manufacturing main equipment including gas and steam turbines, electrical generator, turbine blade and vane, HRSG and conventional boilers, electric and control systems, gas compressor, locomotive and other pertinent equipment. 

MAPNA was founded in 1993 with the initial aim of becoming a general contractor for thermal power plants but evolved and diversified its business lines and capacities to other industries two decades after its establishment. The group is the first and leading Middle East-based general contractor of thermal power plants in MENA region.
