National judo squad off to Netherlands

TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) – Iran’s six-strong judo team has left Tehran for The Hague in order to participate in the final stage of 2017 Judo Grand Prix.

The 2017 The Hague Grand Prix is scheduled to be held in the Netherlands, from 17-19 November with participation of 262 judoka from 46 countries.

Mohammad Reshnonejad (-60kh), Ghasem Nourizadeh (-66kg), Mahdi Fathipour (-73kg), Saeid Molaei (-81kg), Ramin Safavieh (-100kg) as well as Javad Mahjoub (+100kg) are the six Iranian athletes who left for the Netherlands to represent Iran at the upcoming Grand Prix event.

Iranian judo practitioners are accompanied by Mohammad Mansouri as the head coach and Mohsen Zakaria as the coach.

The best athletes in the world will meet in the 14 weight divisions to collect points for the world ranking list.

The Hague Grand Prix will take place from 17-19 November and marks the return of the IJF World Tour to The Netherlands. Over 260 judoka from almost 50 countries are expected to compete in The Hague in the quest for valuable points for the World Ranking List.
