The Leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Humam Hamoudi sat with rear admiral Ali Shamkhani on Monday in order to discuss bilateral concerns and regional changes.
Felicitating Iraqi people, government and the army on the termination of ISIL self-proclaimed caliphate and the elimination of terrorist and Takfiri groups from Iraq, Shamkhani said “fight against ISIL in the areas of security, culture and ideology is still going on and it needs to be maintained nonstop in order to be able to uproot ISIL-manufacturing creeds supported by some regional countries.”
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council added “patience and perseverance shown by Iraqi people, military power, security and popular forces, especially Popular Mobilization Forces led to the annihilation of ISIL, one the greatest threats in the region, despite the support provided for it by some countries.”
Calling the support given by a western state president to the Zionist regime and the attempt to disintegrate the Popular Mobilization Forces new conspiracies to bring terrorism and insecurity back to the region, Shamkahni said “we are positive that the vigilance shown by Iraqi officials and members of parliament will foil enemy plots to disturb inner peace, security and solidarity in Iraq.”
“A major part of regional crises are led and masterminded by the US and the Zionist regime with the intention of maintaining the security of the child killing leaders of Tel Aviv and selling more military weaponry. Iraqi people proved, however, that security cannot be traded and instead of relying on foreign powers, they mobilized popular forces through religious leaders’ decrees (fatwa) in order to counter the most serious security threats and achieve victories,” Shamkhani said.
Shamkhani called territorial and national unity of Iraq the guarantees for stability, security and protecting the interest of all the ethnic groups in Iraq and asserted “close cooperation among regional countries stricken with terrorism in order to fight against extremism through military, security and cultural means is an inevitable necessity and a preventive measure against the formation of new terrorist groups.”
Expressing gratitude toward the role played by the parliament in countering separatist groups that threaten territorial integrity, Shamkhani went on “through collaboration among parliaments of Islamic countries, the voices of the downtrodden people of Yemen and Bahrain can be heard throughout the world and the international organizations can be made to take real, effective measures to put an end to violence and foreign interference.”
For his part, the leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Humam Hamoudi showed deep gratitude toward the Islamic Republic of Iran for playing a central role in fighting terrorist groups in Iraq and the region and said “we achieved numerous victories despite economic, security problems and we will move on with the help of our real allies.”
Rejecting western officials’ interference in the domestic affairs of Iraq, Hamoudi said “if it wasn’t for the selfless popular mobilization forces in Iraq, ISIL terrorists would have occupied Paris by now.”
