Turkish Wrestling Federation was playing host to 2017 edition of the three-day sportive event which was held from October 13-15 in the beach resort of Dalyan.
Iranian beach wresting outfits, at all eligible age groups, collected an aggregate total of six gold, six silver and two bronze medals in order to sweep the World Beach Wrestling title.
In cadet event, Reza Moghadasi (60kg) and Amirreza Sahraei (+70kg) scooped gold trophies while Amirhossein Hadipour stood on the second podium. Additionally, one bronze medal was bagged by Amirhossein Esmaeili who was competing at 70-kilogram weight group.
Junior Iranian beach wrestlers, Reza Shirazi (60kg) and Soheil Paraste (70kg) landed first. Hossein Abbaspour (70kg) and Mohammadreza Pakpour (80kg) finished runner-up while Mostafa Nejati (+80kg) settled for bronze.
Moreover, Seyed Jafar Ghasemi (80kg) and Pouya Rahmani (+90kg) added two more gold to Iran’s tally of medals this time in senior age category. Still thirsty for more medals, Iran’s beach wrestling squad received three bronzes thanks to stunning performances by Mohammad Naderi, Omid Hosseintabar as well as Pejman Fazlollahtabar.
It was the second time that Turkey has welcomed the event with Antalya playing host in 2006.
