Iran bags four medals at Asian Rowing Junior event

TEHRAN, Oct. 15 (MNA) – The Iranian team ended up with four medals, including one gold and three bronzes, at the 2017 Asian Rowing Junior Championships.

In three final encounters of the continental sportive event, young Iranian rowers met rivals and managed to scoop one more bronze medal.

Men’s rowing squad of Iran comprised Reza Ghahramani, Shirzad Ghaderi, Karo Hosseini and Milad Allahverdian who landed third in a final race. Teams from Uzbekistan and China occupied the first and second positions in the same division.

Meanwhile, in women’s double sculls event, Fatemeh Safari and Kimia Zarei stood fourth following teams from China, Japan and Thailand.

Added to earlier medals bagged, the young Iranian outfit finished career at the 2017 Asian Rowing Junior Championships with one gold and three bronze trophies.

The sportive tournament got underway on October 11 in Singapore and came to an end on October 14.
