Iran FM Zarif met with Baleka Mbete, the Speaker of the National Assembly of South Africa, on Sunday in Tehran. The South African legislator who is visiting Tehran has been having bilateral meetings with Iranian officials since Friday.
Mr. Zarif, described South Africa as a friendly country backing Iran in difficult times, especially in the period of anti-Iran sanction called for expansion of ties between the two countries in all areas especially in the area of banking relations.
The South African law maker welcomed the measures to create facilities and ease the development of bilateral ties, especially in the areas of banking.
She also hailed the vast capacity of potential cooperation between the two countries and urged for putting the potentials into practice.
Holding joint commissions, the upcoming travel of President Rouhani to South Africa, the JCPOA, the regional development, and the issue of Palestine were the other areas the two dignitaries exchanged views on.
