Rouhani stresses closer ties with Brazil, Kyrgyzstan

TEHRAN, Feb. 05 (MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani held talks with newly-appointed ambassadors of Brazil and Kyrgyzstan on Sun. on expansion of trade and economic ties with the two countries.

During his meeting with Brazil’s newly-appointed Ambassador to Tehran Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos to receive a copy of his credentials, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted Iran’s keen interested in expanding cooperation with Brazil as a major country with considerable economy in South America.

He stressed the need for facilitation of banking transactions between the two countries, adding “Iran welcomes expansion of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and technology, and will evaluate topics related to tariffs and free trade with South America, which can further facilitate bilateral trade cooperation.”

The Brazilian envoy, for his part, underscored that his government considers Iran as a reliable and long-term partner, seeking strategic economic ties with Tehran.

“The Brazilian government believes that there is no obstacle against the improvement of banking relations between the two countries and have issued the necessary instructions to the Central Bank of Brazil for cooperation with the Central Bank of Iran.”

Also on Sunday, President Rouhani met with the new Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Tehran, Avazbek Abdrazakov, where the president stressed the importance of developing ties between Iran and Kyrgyzstan as beneficial to both nations and the region.

“Iranian companies are ready to develop ties with Kyrgyzstan in all fields, especially road construction, energy, technical and engineering services, medicine and pharmaceuticals,” Rouhani said, while calling on the private sector for a more active role.

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, for his part, stressed his country’s resolve for seeking ways to develop and cement ties with the Islamic Republic, adding "Kyrgyzstan welcomes more active role by Iranian companies and hopes to accelerate economic ties by facilitating consular relations and establishing direct flights to Tehran.”
