Addressing a gathering of religious eulogists on Sunday morning on the occasion of anniversary of birth of Hazrat Fatimah Zahra (SA) as the National Women's and Mothers' Day, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei deemed actions of that great lady of Islam both is the role of a true leader as well as a great wife and mother as a perfect role model for Muslim women adding “witty poets and eulogists need to turns thoughts of Ahl al-Bayt (Household of Prophet) into a common and widespread discourse in the society by tailoring their views to the needs and obligations of modern life.”
“Spiritual aspects of women go beyond human understanding,” stressed the Leader recalling “in the extremely tough conditions after the death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and at a time when only a few had the courage to defend rights of Imam Ali (PBUH), Hazrat Fatimah Zahra did so by attending the mosque.”
He noted that the massive movement of the beloved daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in defending ‘Velayat’ is incomparable to any other sacrifice.
Ayatollah Khamenei considered Hazrat Fatimah as the perfect emblem and highest level of ‘Muslim woman’ and while stressing the importance of recognizing such a position said “besides her grandeur and authority which went beyond human understanding, Fatimah remained a perfect mother, wife and housewife.”
The Leader denounced who cling on incomplete and void words of the West to undermine the position of women in Islam and said “these aberrant and neglectful people humiliate the role of a housewife while a housewife is actually in charge of raising and educating the most valuable product which is a human being.”
He underscored that raising certain topics in support of women’s rights will actually undermine their position reiterating that exploiting women as means of pleasure and joy in the West is most likely a Zionist conspiracy aimed at destroying human society.
“Unfortunately, sometimes inside the country and in some Islamic environments, tasks and expectations are ascribed to women which in fact collapse and humiliate their roles.”
Leader of Islamic Revolution referred to some similarities and differences between males and females as decided by God saying “despite sharing similar goals like ‘rising to spiritual positions’, ‘leadership’ and ‘the ability to guide human beings’, men and women are different when it comes to responsibilities in management of life.
Ayatollah Khamenei, while referring to promotion of concepts like ‘gender equality’ and ‘gender justice’ in the West, said justice means recognizing and nurturing God-given potentials of men and women.
“Today, Western scholars and those who pursue issues like gender equality all regret their actions for the corruption they caused,” highlighted the Leader expressing hope that views of those who raised similar issues inside the country were not based on the Western misconception.
At another part of his remarks, the Leader evaluated eulogy and admiration of Imams as a human, faithful and artistic phenomenon urging eulogists to use their profession in the interest of Islam and Muslims.
He deemed religious eulogy as a unique artistic genre and while emphasizing the need to protect the blessing of good voice, warned against mixing eulogy with other artistic styles.
The Leader said eulogists shouldered the responsibility of introducing Ahl al-Bayt and acquainting people with their religious duties asserting that eulogists had to adopt a modern outlook and create a discourse tailored to current needs and duties of the society.
The Leader also recalled the effective role played by religious eulogist during the Sacred Defense as their melodies prepared the nation for defensing the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei maintained that every period of time demanded a particular dialogue and thinking stressing that “recent progress in religious poetry needs to be exploited properly in a bid to prevent diversion.”
