Parvaneh Salahshouri, Iranian MP and Head of Iran-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group, made the remarks in a meeting with Italian Ambassador to Tehran Mauro Conciatori on Monday.
During the meeting, Salahshouri maintained that parliamentary cooperation can improve and facilitate expansion of bilateral relations in various other fields, adding Iran’s Parliament welcomes further improvement of the level of cooperation between Tehran and Rome.
“Cultural exchanges can also provide an appropriate ground for the people of the two countries to know one another better,” She said, adding “this in turn can lead to a boost in trade and economic transactions as well.”
The Italian ambassador, for his part, voiced his satisfaction over the formation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group in Iran’s Parliament, adding “Italian MPs fully welcome expansion of ties with the Iranian Parliament at any level, including the friendship groups.”
“There have been good negotiations between the two countries on political and economic cooperation,” he said, while expressing his country’s readiness to further improve cultural relations and cooperation on environmental fields.
