The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) pursues various objectives including exchange of know-how, research and specialty in the field of infrastructure as well as energy saving in buildings.
Broadly speaking, the newly-signed deal seeks to provide a framework for exchange of technical knowledge and potentials of the two sides in an attempt to bolster bilateral cooperation.
Under the terms of the MoU, which covers six provisions, TUPRC and KICT will make plans and take action in line with developmental of mutual cooperation, exchange of information, technology and expertise in infrastructure areas, energy efficiency in buildings, construction technologies, mass construction technology and industrialization of buildings and roads, transportation and related issues in order to promote potentials of both sides, conduct research on how to adopt and localize developed technologies as well as modes of technology transfer.
In order to implement provisions of cooperation under the MoU, the parties to the agreement are obliged to put several measures on the agenda like conducting joint investigation, providing technical advice, exchange of technical information and specialists of both sides as well as preparation of their R&D offices.
Consulting projects as well as conferences, workshops, meetings and seminars comprise other common forms of cooperation that have been emphasized in the memorandum of understanding.
It is noteworthy that implementation of research collaboration under the MoU is subject to availability of funds, the right kind of people as well as usable rules and regulations of each country. Moreover, the agreement runs for three years and is renewable on mutual agreement.
