Pakistani poet awarded for Prophet panegyrics

LAHORE, Jan. 11 (MNA) – A Pakistani poet and scholar has won the first prize in National Seerath Competition 2016, in category Books in Regional Languages.

International Innovation Laureate, linguist, poet and Law scholar, Rehmat Aziz Khan Chitrali’s was awarded for his book ‘Muhammad (PBUH),’ collection of panegyrics in Khowar, a native language spoken in Chitral, Swat and Ghizer Gilgit Baltistan.

He received the award on the occasion of the International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore, where distinguished books and papers were conferred distinctions.

In the concluding session of the aforementioned conference held under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Government of Pakistan, ‘Muhammad SAW- Seerat Book’ was awarded 1st prize in a national level contest. Researcher and biographer Rehmat Aziz Chitrali also received the Seerat Gold Medal.

Literary circles, poets and authors and civil society members extended their congratulation to both the publisher of Khowar Academy and Mr. Chitrali on their commendable book.
