Swaupe officials have voiced readiness to construct a 400-MW power plant, solar power generation units, residential areas, office complexes as well as a mini-refinery.
Following a meeting with Executive Director of Swaupe Brent Pearson, Director General of Chabahar Free Trade Zone Abdolrahim Kordi said proper grounds are provided for all domestic and foreign investors to conduct activities in various sectors since necessary infrastructures will be ready in no time.
"Approximately 800 hectares of land in Chabahar have been allocated to Swaupe for the international company to implement its projects," he continued.
Kordi underlined that Swaupe's projects are scheduled to become operational following legal formalities and coordination with relevant authorities.
Directors of the multinational company had made another visit to the region a few months earlier and have had excellent cooperation as regards the inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), said the official.
He noted that the visit of over a hundred domestic and foreign delegations to Chabahar is an indication of its significance for trade and economic activities which can bring about immediate Return on Investment (ROI).
"Investment in chabahar FTZ offers a 20-year tax exemption while no similar benefit exists on the mainland," Kordi underscored.
Director General of Chabahar Free Trade Zone, while recalling that the government is completing railway, air and port infrastructures in the region, urged domestic and foreign investors not to miss the available opportunities.
Chabahar free trade-industrial zone started its activities in 1995 focusing on five major areas including transit of merchandise goods, investment attraction and related services, tourism, construction & urban development and education under the administration of public controlled Chabahar free trade-industrial zone organization.
