Stop bloodshed in Syria, Yemen: Zarif

TEHRAN, Nov. 08 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif touched upon the regional crises in Syria and Yemen after his Tuesday meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam in Beirut.

A political solution should be devised for these two complicated crises and everybody should insist on a political solution as the sole way out of these crises,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif after his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam on Tuesday in Beirut. The two officials underlined that bloodshed should be immediately halted in these two countries.

“Meeting with Mr. Tammam Salam was a valuable and opportune moment and I capitalized on this good occasion to offer my congratulations to the dear people of Lebanon for their latest victory in electing their president,” highlighted the Iranian top diplomat, “and we are looking forward to, God Willingly, another victory soon in Lebanon, I mean the formation of the new cabinet.”  

The Iranian Foreign Minister recounted that he has declared to Mr. Tammam Salam that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the current political approach in Lebanon and he described the new approach as constructive.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is perseveringly determined to develop bilateral cooperation with brotherly country of Lebanon in all areas especially in trade and economy,” underlined the Iranian senior diplomat, “the best evidence to prove this determination is the high-ranking economy and trade delegation accompanying me in this visit and the representatives of both private and public sectors among them.”
