US accomplice in Saudi carnage in Yemen

TEHRAN, Oct. 09 (MNA) – Secretary of Iran's SNSC Ali Shamkhani condemning the recent air invasion of Saudi Arabia to Yemen by US weaponries said the US is complicit in the carnage in Yemen and must be held accountable.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Shamkhani underlined Saudi-led coalition airstrikes hitting a funeral ceremony in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, killed hundreds of innocent people using weapons provided by the US.

"America is complicit in the crimes against Yemen's defenseless and innocent people and must be held accountable," Shamkhani noted.

Stressing that Western public opinion should understand what role their governments play in continuing Yemen's war, Shamkhani said that arms sales to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates play a central role in military invasion on Yemen and killing innocent people.

More than 140 people were killed and more than 525 wounded when Saudi airstrikes hit a funeral ceremony in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, on Saturday afternoon.
