Iran denies Saudi claims on deputy FM's visit to Yemen

TEHRAN, Oct. 07 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi denied the report by Saudi newspaper Al-Watan on Iranian deputy FM’s trip to Yemen’s capital of Sana’a earlier this week.

Qassemi described Saudi Al-Watan’s claim a part of the country’s projections to cover up its successive failures in Yemen.

"Saudi media outlets issue such false reports while all routes to Sana’a have been closed for a couple of months and the Saudi military forces do not allow even the Yemeni nationals to travel to Sana’a," Ghasemi noted.

Saudi Al-Watan newspaper on Thursday claimed Iranian deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari has paid a short trip to Sana’a earlier this week to meet with Yemen's Ansarullah leaders.

The newspaper quoted an informed source claiming Iran’s supports for Ansarullah group.
