Olympic shooter clinches gold in French event

TEHRAN, Jun. 12 (MNA) – Iran’s Najmeh Khedmati has clinched gold medal of Rifle 3 Positions shooting during French Shooting Tournament.

The event hosted shooters of 20 countries in France. On the third day of event and in semi-final round of 3 Positions shooting of women’s module, Iran’s two shooters Mahleqa Jambozorg and Najmeh Khedmati secured places in final round, with the former improving her national record of 586 points to 587 points. Khedmati, Iran’s Olympic medalist came only 4th with 582 points. A third shooter, Elaheh Ahmadi stood in poor 17th place with 574 points.

In finals, Khedmati came first with winning all rivals to secure gold medal. Jambozorg managed the 7th place with lackluster performance however. Shooters from Italy and hosting France won silver and bronze medals.
