‘Paladin and the Sufi’s Cloak’ wins Taiwan Doc. Filmfest

TEHRAN, May 15 (MNA) – A long documentary by Arash Naghib Lahouti, ‘Paladin and Sufi’s Cloak’ has won the Grand Prix of Asian section of Taiwan International Documentary Festival.

The 10th edition of the event held May 6-13 in Taipei capital of Taiwan, where ‘Paladin and Sufi’s Cloak,’ a product of Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), competed with 15 other documentaries in Asian sector and where it secured the Grand Prix for Best Direction along with crystal trophy and cash prize.

Luciano Barisone, the artistic director of the Visions du Réel Festival in Nyon, Switzerland headed the juries of the festival. 75-minute documentary by Arash Lahouti is the story of an itinerant paladin (pahlavan) in a heroic quest for his ancestral Sufi’s cloak (khirqa).
