Iran always ready to resolve problems through negotiations

TEHRAN, May 07 (MNA) – Iranian deputy FM and Finland's minister of interior exchanged views on the promotion of consular cooperation, the fight against terrorism, human trafficking, drug trafficking and organized crime.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi who traveled to Finland to examine Iranian issues and consular relations on Wednesday, met with Finland's Minister of interior Antti Petteri Orpo.

The two sides underlined the need for expert calls to review the cooperation on above mentioned issues and to expand economic, political relations, including visa facilitation.

Interior Minister Hassan Ghashghavi invited Mr. Petteri Orpo to visit Iran to hold talks on issues of mutual interest.

In another meeting, Ghashghavi also met with Finland’s Under-Secretary of State Peter Stenlund and the two sides noted the good status of relations between the two countries to continue regular political consultations, economic exchanges and cultural trips.

Stenlund pointing to the negative effects of tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia in the region, called for reducing differences through dialogue.

Accordingly, Ghashghavi underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been ready to resolve problems through negotiations.

Finland’s official expressed readiness to facilitate the trade and tourism between the two countries.

Both sides hoped for the upcoming visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Helsinki for strengthening relations and boosting international and regional cooperation.
