Brig. Gen. Yadollah Javani was reacting to recent [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council statement labelling Hezbollah as a terrorist organization on Saturday; “the statement will definitely discredit the Council and over time their miscalculation will surface; Hezbollah is a popular organization and the only Arab force which succeeded in inflicting a defeat on the Zionist regime during 60 years,” he emphasized. “Hezbollah has been defending Lebanese territorial integrity and Muslim rights against the monstrous Zionist regime. It also had been a ballast for Palestine; those labeling Hezbollah as terrorist organization, have done so to meet the conditions set by the US and Israeli regime and had become effectively their mercenary.”
“Hezbollah enjoys huge popularity among the region’s nations; some countries immediately took an opposing stance against the Council’s decision to stand aside from their complicity,” said adviser to Leader’s representative to IRGC; “there is an ongoing rivalry in the Middle East and in Iraq and Syria as well with supporters of resistance being in one side of the rivalry. The other party consists of terrorists and their supporting regimes of the region and beyond it,” he added.
“Today, nations are no longer to be deceived and will defend their national security; in Syria, the course of the events will turn in a way to guarantee the nation’s rights. Syrian government has legitimacy and hence has been standing against terrorists and their regional supporters,” concluded IRGC general.
