UNSC rejects North Korea nuclear test

NEW YORK, Jan. 07 (MNA) – UN Security Council has strongly condemned the test by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), which it described as a clear threat to international peace.

After the detection of earthquakes linked to the explosion and the information published by the North Korean news agency KCNA on the successful detonation of the first non controlled hydrogen bomb

of the DPRK, the 15-member body convened to an emergency meeting.

The statement released here by the Council, chaired this month by Uruguay, states the trial violated its resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013) and 2094 (2013), and the non-proliferation regime.

We reiterate what has been stated before about taking significant measures in case of a new test by DPRK, so we will immediately begin to act I that direction, reflects the text.

According to the Security Council, another resolution will be adopted on the subject.
