Karatekas en route to Indonesia

TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (MNA) – Iran’s boys and girls kata teams will leave Tehran for Jakarta tonight to attend the 9th World Karate Championship WKF Junior, Cadet, & Under 21 held in Indonesia.

Hosted by Indonesia, the 9th World Karate Junior, Cadet and U-21 Championships 2015 will kick off on November 12 and Iranian Junior, Cadet and U-21 athletes along with the team staff will depart for Jakarta in two groups on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Accordingly, the Iranian squad in the Female Individual Kata section consists of Yeganeh Shahpari, Fatemeh Sadeghi and Maedeh Nasiri in Junior, Cadet and Under-21 age categories, respectively.

In Male Individual Kata, Amirbahador Tadayon, Ali Zand and Amiryazdan Tadayon will represent Iran in Junior, Cadet and Under-21 age categories, respectively.

In Kata Team Cadet section, the Iranian fighters who will face their rivals include Ali Archangi, Hamidreza Pourama, Mohammad Javad Ameri, Mehdi Shojaei, Ghasem Shahrjerdi, Mohammad Goudarzi, Ali Hajizadeh and Touraj Chalaki led by Reza Safi.

The country’s Female and Male Kumite teams had travelled to Indonesia last week on Monday, October 26.

The 2015 World Karate Championship, WKF junior, cadet and Under 21 will kick off on November 12 – 15 in the city of Jakarta, Indonesia.
