Iranian referee wins WKF’s Golden Whistle

TEHRAN, Nov. 15 (MNA) – Iranian referee Mohammad Ali Mardani was awarded the Word Karate Federation’s Golden Whistle prize for 20 years of fair judgment in international arenas.

On the third day of the 9th WKF Junior, Cadet and U21 Championships in Indonesia, the Referee Commission chairman Roland Lowinge awarded the Golden Whistle to Iran’s Mohammad Ali Mardani.

The prize is given to judges who have made few mistakes during several years of their career in important global events.

Mardani had previously received the Silver Whistle from the international Referee Commission and became the first Iranian referee to win the Golden Whistle which is a symbol of fair judgment in WKF.

“I am very pleased to be the first Iranian who wins the prize which I believe belongs to Iran’s karate,” said Mardani expressing hope that Iranian karate referees attains a unique and admirable level of quality which is not far-fetched.

WKF Junior, Cadet and U21 Championships kicked off on Nov. 12 in Indonesia and will wrap up today knowing its champions and medal winners.
