Oblivion Season wins Brasov IFF award

TEHRAN, Sep. 20 (MNA) – Abbas Rafei’s film Oblivion Season won the best film award at Brasov International Film Festival (BRIFF) held in Romania.

Directed and produced by Abbas Rafei, Oblivion Season was screened at the competition section of BRIFF in the city of Brasov, Romania and won the best film award.

Oblivion Season was competing with 12 other films from around the world at BRIFF which is the most important and renowned nonviolent film festival in the world and is held in Romania every year on September 3-13.

Abbas Rafei’s film had already bagged different awards at several international film festivals including the third Annual Rahway International Film Festival, Hudson Festival in New York as well as the 39th Montreal World Film Festival.

Oblivion Season tells the story of a woman in Iran who starts a new life by marrying her loved one, but leaving the shadow of her dark past is not as easy as it seemed. Now she is the prisoner of her loved one and to earn her freedom, she will need to fight with the masculine society.

The cast includes Sareh Bayat, Amin Zendegani, Shahin Taslimi, Jila Alershad, Fariba Ahang and Mehdi Mohtashemi.
