This year only 13 short films were shortlisted for the competition section of the festival and the Iranian film bagged the event’s Grand Prize.
The Iranian flick tells the story of a paralyzed Afghan child who lives in a village and shops for the villagers.
The festival’s jury met on August 13th, 2015 and selected the 13 shorts. This year's line-up included works from Canada, France, Iran, Australia, Bangladesh and Spain.
The Cabbagetown Short Film & Video Festival is a juried showcase for some of the world's best short films, receiving submissions from across Canada and United States, as well as Europe, South America, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan.
The submitted works need not be premieres, nor made in the year of the festival, but they cannot exceed 15 minutes in length.
