Fierce fight for face in 5th round IPL

TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – The new round of Iran’s IPL will kick off on Tuesday with three matches in cities of Anzali, Tehran and Ahvaz.

The fifth round of Iran’s 15th Premier League of soccer 2015-16 will be held in three days starting on Tuesday in Anzali port city of Northern Iran where the swans of the city will host Gostaresh Foulad of Tabriz. Malavan has not experienced a defeat under the new head coach Hamid Steeli and Gostaresh bagged its first 3 points in the last round moving up 5 steps in the table.

The next match of the day is in Tehran where Saipa plays with table-toppers of Isfahan to compensate their last round defeat in a home game.

To be broadcast live on TV is the third fixture of the day between the two bottom-sitters in the table who surprisingly are good at play but not results. Perspolis of Tehran with 1 point is the 16th and Foulad of Khuzestan with 3 points in the 14th place. Both renowned clubs are desperate to win and speculated by some commentators the destiny of the head coaches are at the mercy of the result.

Wednesday is a holiday in Iran and it will be the day for four fixtures of th 5th round to be started in Mashhad with the encounter between Siah Jamegan of the city and Rah Ahan of Tehran.

Siah Jamegan lost their last round and the head coach Khatibi resigned while Rah Ahan garnered its first victory of the season the same day.

In Tabriz Tractorsazi is going to receive Esteghlal of Khuzestan who are now holding the second place in the table.

The third fixture of the day is the match between Zowbahan, who have defeated both giants of Tehran in the last two rounds of the IPL, and Esteghlal of Ahvaz who lost their last round match in a home game.

Saba of Qom will line against Padideh of Mashhad in Qom as the last match of the day.

The eighth and last fixture of the 5th round will be held in Tehran Azadi Stadium where the blue giants of Tehran will play against Naft of Tehran.
